Learning to Need You

Over a year ago, God blessed me with an experience that showed his power and glory in a simple morning. Since then God has been calling me back to learn to need him again. If you were to ask me one year ago what I would be doing right now, I would have never imaged where I am right now. This new journey that God is taking me on has made me rethink everything that I thought myself to be. I have made lots of mistakes in my life but God does not care. The only thing He asks of me is to be the child that is filled with the Christ rush that I felt growing up.

In this process of learning to need God more I have found myself learning old lessons once more. The child in me screams out and hopes that I will stop running away to grow up but to find time to be his daughter. The girl who knew nothing of the world and trusted only my father to guide me with every step.

The more I think about it, it's easier to be an adult. Everyone thinks that being a kid is easy and being an adult is harder. The truth is that as a grownup you make the choices and as a child you can only rely on others to take care of you. That's why God loves children so much because that is when we got it right. It was the time in our lives that we had no shame in saying that we needed him.

So here's to the kid in you.

Justin McRoberts - Learning to Need You
I've forgotten
Just how sweet Your
Mercies are Lord

I've forgotten
Just how sweet Your mercies are Lord
Could You remind me
You've been faithful in my weakness
Father Your Love Overwhelms my soul
I'm learning to need You

I cry out Your name
I am in need of Your mercies, Jesus
Despite my pride and my shame
I'm learning to need You
